Meet Dr. Cornelius
I would like to introduce myself. I am a 1967 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Palmer College is the oldest and largest Chiropractic College in the world. After graduation I practiced in my hometown of Graettinger, Iowa as an associate of Dr. V.G. Rientz. Then I struck out on my own by opening a private practice in Forest City, Iowa. In 1981 I moved to Mount Vernon, Iowa were I have been to the present. When I moved to Mount Vernon I bought the Baxter Funeral Home at 216 Second Street SW and did extensive remodeling to convert it into my Chiropractic office. Since 1981 the office has been remodeled three more times to accommodate growth and changes in my practice.
In the thirty-plus years since my graduation from Palmer College my post-graduate education has focused around orthopedics and sports injuries. I enjoy working with athletes because Chiropractic can get them back in playing condition very fast. I have also attended over 450 hours of study in the Gonstead Technique. Most of those hours where taken at the Gonstead Clinic in Mount Horab, Wisconsin.
In the last few years I have been studying Applied Kinesiology Technique and the Cox Flexion/Distraction Technique. Applied Kinesiology is the study of muscles and their relationship to spinal conditions and weaknesses. Flexion/Distraction is relatively new and works very well on acute Lumbar disc conditions.
Please take your time at my web page. I hope you find it informative. If you have further questions I can be reached at my office in Mount Vernon.
